We provide phototherapy treatments using Intense Pulsed Light or IPL technology. Our Axiom light treatment unit provides the latest in light therapy treatments with the best results available.

Acne Treatment
The energy in the form of thermal channeled light (TLC) is channeled through the hand piece and treat up to 50x25 mm area at a time (approximately 2 inches by 1 inch). There are different treatment lamps depending on the desired usage. Each lamp uses a different range of the light spectrum to optimally perform its function during treatment.
You will be given several forms prior to receiving treatment. Make sure that you fully understand them prior to treatment. The forms will include your health assessment, and consent. You will also be given before and after care information that you should read and follow. See below for before and after pictures.
About Your Phototherapy Treatment
The settings and light source in the hand piece are set according to the type of treatment and your skin type. The settings (duration, mode) are adjusted to provide the best treatment for you. Test spots will usually be done prior to treating an area to determine your treatment settings.
You may experience a slight discomfort during treatment. Your practitioner can adjust the settings to provide the balance between treatment effectiveness and your comfort.
You will be required to wear safety glasses if we are working around your face to protect your eyes. You should keep your eyes closed during treatments.
For hair removal, we will mark the areas to be treated and then trim your hair prior to treatment. You may smell some hair burning during treatment.
After Treatment Care
You should avoid sun exposure for treated areas for a few days after treatment. You should not use a depilatory (wax or cream). tweezers, or tanning creams for 2 weeks after treatment.
Most people experience a mild sunburn-like feeling in the treated area. This feeling will usually disappear after 2 to 3 hours after treatment. You can alleviate this feeling by applying a cool compress to the treated area. In some extreme cases, you will experience slight blisters that appear on the face for 2 to 3 days or up to 7 days on the body.
You should gently cleanse the treated areas with water and a neutral soap at least twice a day following your treatment.
Side Effects
There are no reported serious effects. The most common side effect is hyper pigmentation which should disappear within 6 months without treatment.

A photo facial treats fine lines and wrinkles as well as brown spots and sun damaged skin. Your skin's collagen is remodeled for a firmer, tighter, renewed and more youthful skin structure.
Treatments are scheduled every 2 to 3 weeks. 3 to 6 visits are recommended.

Vascular Lesion Removal

Using light and thermal therapy to affect the fine blood vessels, we can help to reduce or eliminate spider veins (vascular lesions). The targeted energy causes coagulation with fine blood vessels or pigmented skin spot, removing them without harming surrounding tissues.
Treatment cost depends on the extent of the area to be covered. Multiple treatments may be necessary.

Active Acne Treatment

By altering the light frequency, we can help to open your pores and help the healing process for your acne. The treatment depth is controlled to enable safe treatment for all skin types. Pulses of light are sent from the treatment lamp to create an oxygen generating reaction in clogged pores. Thermal energy is also sent to the targeted are, opening pores and allowing penetration of additional oxygen to destroy acne bacteria.
Acne treatments are scheduled twice a week for 4 weeks. One month must pass after the treatments before determining if a maintenance program is necessary.
